WHAT WE DO

  • Mass Mobilizations

    MASS MOBILIZATIONS

The PYM has organized mass mobilizations across North America and Europe, with national marches of 500,000 people, and regional marches of over 50,000 people. Our mass mobilizations are not just a show of strength, displaying the power of the organized masses; they also send a message to our people back home that we are a part of the struggle for liberation. Mass mobilizations help shape the public narrative about the Palestinian struggle, and political generate crisis for the ruling elites. Through bringing as many segments of society together – from Arab and Muslim communities, to students, to workers, to solidarity organizations –  we are able to make the demands of the people clear.

  • COMMUNITY AND CULTURAL EVENTS

The PYM has organized community events in order to bring our people together in service of our struggle. These events include Palestine festivals, sporting events for Palestine, community picnics, film screenings, cultural nights, and lessons for Palestinian cultural practices like tatreez and dabke. Critical to our work as the PYM is our ability to build and foster community. We believe that in order to effectively organize our communities, we must first create spaces where families can engage in cultural production, where children can understand what it means to be Palestinian, and where our elders can share their stories of displacement and resistance.

  • POLITICAL EDUCATION

We have put together teach-ins on various topics including: Palestine 101, the Oslo Accords, pre-Nakba resistance, the First Intifada, Palestinian Prisoners, the Student Movement, Gaza, and many others. We have taught multi-part courses including 100 Years of Palestinian Resistance, and Understanding Zionism, both of which were attended by thousands of people. We believe that popular education is a critical part for deepening our understanding Palestinian history and culture which strengthens our commitment to the struggle. In the face of Zionism, knowledge is a tool that allows us, as a movement, to develop effective strategies for confronting Zionism and to raise the consciousness of the people.

  • POLITICAL CAMPAIGNS

The PYM has taken up campaign work across our various locales, and internationally. These campaigns serve as a way for us to bring our communities together to confront Zionism. We have taken up campaigns against CVE (“countering violent extremism”) programs - which aim to surveil and criminalize our communities; statewide and school district campaigns fighting for ethnic studies and Palestine curriculum; campaigns combatting the adoption of the IHRA definition which seeks to equate anti-Zionism with antisemitism, and a campaign to Drop the Anti-Defamation League (ADL). Across our various locales, PYM has supported divestment campaigns at city and county levels, universities, and private companies invested in Zionism. Most recently, the PYM has launched an international campaign targeting logistics giant Maersk: a company responsible for transporting military cargo to the Zionist entity.

  • FUNDRAISERS

The PYM has organized fundraisers to raise funds for our people in Palestine and the region. These fundraisers reflect our understanding of our role in the diaspora, which requires that we mobilize our communities in support of the steadfastness of our people in the homeland. We reject the depoliticization of aid which has been taken up by NGOs in the post-Oslo era, and instead assert that the Palestinian diaspora has a critical role to play in support the steadfastness of our people by helping meet their material needs: including emergency services, healthcare, food, and shelter. In the last year, we have raised over $1 million to support our people’s steadfastness.

  • JOINT STRUGGLE & SOLIDARITY

As part of the tradition of internationalism, we believe in the importance of joint struggle with other peoples struggling for liberation. Across our various locales, we organize in joint struggle, hosting events and teach-ins that draw parallels between Palestine and other struggles. We have sent members on many delegations including to South Africa, Cuba, Ireland, and Standing Rock. These delegations have allowed us to deepen our ties with other peoples struggling against colonialism and imperialism. We also build closely with working class formations and labor unions as we believe organized labor has the power of correcting the march of history, of confronting the forces of imperialism internationally, and building better societies for all workers and peoples.

  • MEDIA WORK

We believe that media plays a critical role in our struggle, which requires us to confront Zionist propaganda, and move people into organizing for Palestine. We produce content across various social platforms, and have published articles in Mondoweiss, The New Arab, Al-Akhbar, The New Inquiry, The Nation, Hope and Hammer, & People’s Dispatch. We have joined many shows and podcasts including: Al-Jazeera, The Freedom Side, Breakthrough News, Al-Mayadeen. the Socialist Program, the Katie Halper Show, Guerilla History, the Malcolm Effect, & The East is a Podcast. In 2024, we launched our own podcast: Popular Cradle Podcast - which analyzes the history of Palestinian resistance to Zionism, our movement in the diaspora, and offers critical insights aimed primarily at youth across North America and Europe who wish to deepen their understanding of the struggle.
