We mobilize to win
“Rebellion and resistance are the source of strength of the Palestinian individual and Palestinian society.” – Basim Sarhan
Mobilizations bring masses of people who may otherwise be disenfranchised, demobilized, alienated, or unorganized into politics. It is the first step many take for direct involvement in grassroots action and their first exposure to revolutionary politics. Mass mobilization is not revolution in-and-of-itself, but a necessary component of revolutionary action and the development of a revolutionary project.
Organized actions serve as an important meeting point between unorganized communities and organizations. They create a space for community members to directly engage in the fight for liberation in a tangible way that strengthens our collective struggle. Together we can channel feelings of anger, disempowerment, and deep love for our people into a worldview that stresses the need for mass action. Building collective consciousness within individuals then expands the capacity for organizations to escalate on multiple fronts.
Mass mobilizations preserve the steadfastness and political cohesion of Palestinian communities in the face of a psychological war on Palestinian resistance. They do so by politically activating Palestinian communities wherever we are, and increasing mass global support for our struggle. Mobilizations have a material impact on the economy through the disruption of business as usual, agitation of the role of different industries and companies, and the necessary deployment of state resources and institutions to suppress our movement.
Through collective action, our movements are able to communicate our politics and message widely, demonstrating to both our supporters and enemies our strength in our ability to directly confront the institutions that support Zionism and the genocide of our people. When we mobilize, we win!
