Israeli security cabinet approves netanyahu’s plan to invade and occupy gaza

The Israeli security cabinet has approved a plan, proposed by Benjamin Netanyahu, for Israel to invade and occupy Gaza City, where the majority of remaining Palestinians in Gaza are located. Netanyahu announced that the invasion and occupation of the remainder of Gaza, from North to South, would follow.

Just a day before this announcement, leaked minutes from a cabinet meeting in March exposed that Israel had decided to cut off all aid from Gaza in an effort to “force Hamas to surrender.”

This war crime—the forced starvation of millions of Palestinians—has led to a manmade famine that, since March 3, has claimed the lives of thousands of Palestinians and put over 2 million on the brink of death by starvation.

For 22 months, Israel’s plan has always been to use this war to force the Palestinian people to surrender, and to invade and occupy the Gaza Strip.

Leaked details of the plan describe the forced removal of all residents in the area towards camps disbursed across the Strip, a project of ethnic cleansing proposed to be complete by October 7, 2025.

For nearly two years, Israel’s genocide has been made possible through the support of Western nations who supply Israel with weapons, aid, and diplomatic cover. These governments wield the power to both end Israel’s genocidal campaign, and ensure the entry of essential aid.

Instead, the United States has sent Israel more than $20 billion in military aid since October 2023, and continued to offer Israel unconditional diplomatic support despite the American public’s outrage.

Complicit Arab governments—whether in Jordan, Egypt, or the Gulf—have sat idly by as Gaza starves. They have continued their normalization agreements, deepened security collaboration, and expanded trade with Israel.

While the politicians and rulers of these nations may choose to condemn Israel’s new plan: the reality is that without their economic, military, and diplomatic support, Israel’s plan would have not been made possible.

Our demands are straightforward: sanction Israel, enact an arms embargo, and resume the flow of aid. We have reached an inflection point that has loomed over us since this genocide began. We are fighting, at this very moment, for Gaza’s survival.
