Israel advances bill to impose death penalty on palestinian prisoners
On 11 November 2025, the Knesset approved the first reading of a bill that would allow the Zionist occupation to impose the death penalty on Palestinian prisoners. Under this law, any Palestinian convicted of “terrorism” in the Israeli military court system would face mandatory execution, without the possibility of commutation.
Israel’s kangaroo courts are structurally created to imprison Palestinians en masse, with no regard for due process and a 99% conviction rate. The execution bill is likely to pass, given its support by the war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu, his coalition and a majority of the Knesset.
Over 11,000 Palestinians remain imprisoned in Zionist dungeons, including more than 1,000 held under politically motivated “terrorism” charges, an unclear and loosely defined legal category which Zionists can apply to virtually any Palestinian prisoner.
The bill threatens to sanction mass executions of these more than 1,000 Palestinian prisoners, and exposes the remaining 10,000 to possible execution if terrorism charges are added onto the charges they are otherwise facing.
After two years of genocide failed to destroy the Palestinian liberation struggle, Israel is now attempting to execute the living, beating heart of that struggle: our prisoners.
We have seen thousands of prisoners released as a result of ceasefire negotiations, returning as living symbols of steadfastness, carrying the revolutionary knowledge forged in Zionist dungeons, and strengthening our faith in the liberation of our people.
Resisting the occupier even from behind bars, Palestinian prisoners routinely endure systematic torture, starvation, sleep deprivation, mutilation, and sexual violence. Prison conditions have worsened dramatically since October 2023, with death due to torture and medical neglect increasing sharply from the previous period.
Zionist politicians like Itamar Ben Gvir have visited Zionist dungeons and openly celebrated the torture and abuse, with Ben Gvir distributing baklava in the Knesset itself following the advancement of the execution bill on the Knesset floor. Zionists continue to make their position known: enthusiastic support for the state-sanctioned abuse, torture, rape, and killing of Palestinians.
Even from behind bars, Palestinian prisoners threaten the Zionists through their unwavering commitment to the struggle. In their attempts to quell any struggle against the occupation, Israel has long taken to mass arrests, administrative detention and torture practices. Now, in an attempt to intimidate the Palestinian people into silence and submission, Israel is moving to sanction mass executions of prisoners.
Israel stands isolated on the world stage — condemned internationally and exposed for its genocide and systematic torture. Against this bill and against every other violent tool of the occupation, the struggle for liberation will continue.
All movements across the world must continue working towards sanctions on Israel to end its brutal attack on Palestinian life everywhere.
